How is my local public library using social media

The Carlingford branch library is under City of Parramatta Council and my local public library. 

They are using a lot of different social media website out there, each having its own purpose and functionality. This library focuses mainly on three such Facebook, Instagram and Youtube for parents living around parramatta community, also they have twitter, RSS as well.

• Facebook - has the largest number of active users and is easy to get started with. When looking library activities or information Facebook is one of the first places many people look. it is a place for community members to connect online by library Facebook page

• Instagram - is easy use and is a great platform for sharing photos and interacting in a photo and video format with the community

• Youtube - Promote community event, talks, and community sharing. 

• Twitter - like Facebook, has a large number of member, however a significant number are not active. It is a wonderful platform for creating a dialogue between a business and community centre and the members of the community. Twitter has a higher demand on time than Facebook as posts can disappear faster.
